Just grab your old Dad's beard trimmer and put it on the longest setting. Clean shaven is weird (looking and feeling), especially when it starts to grow back...and you'll be stuck to yourself the entire time.

In my own opinion, when I want a man, I want a MAN. I think men are supposed to be rough and hairy (not Planet of the Apes-hairy, though, don't get me wrong), so when I touch a man I don't want to feel some soft, smooth, shaved pubic region that reminds me of my own. I'd say trim it, keep it up nice, but don't shave it all off. Also, you'd think it would make your member seem larger, but every guy I've seen shave it all off seems way smaller after the fact. That's my humble advice.
