I am wondering about laser hair removal. I am not a very hairy person but I think girls are much sexier smooth everywhere! Actually I guess shaving my legs and arms isn't too bad (quick!!) But I'm interested in doing my lip, armpits, and downstairs (that's what I want the most). I know their are multiple procedures but if you've had this done how are the results and what is the average total cost? THanks!
Laser Hair Removal?
My wife had her bikini, underarms and legs done 6 years ago. She removed 95% of the hair but a bit did go grow back during a pregnance. The cost can be between $50 and $500 per treatment. Bikini generally costs around $250 per treatment and you need 4-6 treatments.
The pain is dependent on the individual. She thought her legs actually hurt the worst. The pain is also directly correlated with the color and density of the hair in the vicinity.
If you get it done, make sure to go to someone qualified who is using good equipment. The attached sites have a lot of good options.

first of all ******* hurts, they lie when they say painless, i was clinching my fist so tight i almost dug into my skin with my fingernails.
second of all its VERY costly, and worst and third of all, it didnt work.
it could depend on skin type and hair type, but for me, it was the biggest waste of money i ever spent.

electrolysis, they can usually do it at a beauty shop and it is about a dollar per minute. But they work really fast.

Laser Hair Removal?
I paid $1,000 for a laser package that included every area I wanted done. I have went a total of 9 times for each area so far and my hair has been reduced by about 50%. Fortunately, I'm not real hairy to begin with or I might be frustrated with the results. I expected to be hair-free by now, but maybe with more treatments that will happen. The only major problem with getting this done is the time it takes. They will only do one area at a time and it takes a while to put the numbing cream (extra cost) on the area (be sure to ask for it on bikini area!).
Laser Hair Removal?
It's not without discomfort but most importantly, it's expensive and really doesn't seem to work well. I had 4 treatments but won't do it any more - it was a waste of $.
Laser Hair Removal?
Everyone has given very good info and advice but I have to add that the procedure works best on individuals with light skin and dark hair.
I made the mistake of referring my friend who has very dark skin and hair to my doctor. My doctor was a Harvard and Stanford grad, she has become a celebrity dermatologist (I have seen her on an infomercial) and she still burnt my friends face!!!!! My friend went to her for the laser hair removal and wound up with a burn on her face. Be very, very cautious about who you go to. I was having laser treatments from the same doctor for something else and did not have a problem but obviously she made a mistake of working on my beautiful friend's face. Ouch!
And yes, again, laser treatments hurt. It feels like a rubber band is being snapped on your skin.

I had it done on the bikini line, armpits, and legs. I have lighter skin with dark hair, which is supposed to have the best results. The hair on my legs is lighter, so that area had the worst results--about a 30% reduction. The armpits and bikini line worked really well--I'd say a 70% reduction, with much thinner hairs growing back. These results were based on a package deal of 5 treatments per area.
I'd recommend it if you go in with realistic expectations and understand you won't be 100% hairless.
Laser Hair Removal?
I have just come back from my 5th laser session on my face.
It hurts! But I'm worth it!!
I am in the UK. My clinic offers a 6 for 5 session charge. The whole face cost me 鎷?25. Although I might need a couple of extra treatments.
So far, I am very pleased with the results. It is painful, but after a couple of weeks when the expelled hair falls out, it looks really good!
I am hoping to cut down on the amount of mouisturiser and foundation that I have to buy.
Currently I get my legs and underarms waxed, but in the long term it would be cheaper to get those lasered too.
Yes I agree, smooth skin is sexy.
