I'm going to say (emphatically) LONG hair is sexier. I think this is true for a majority (though not a great majority) of men.

The reason, I believe, is a primal one. The long hair shows health, vitality, and youth, and somewhere in our brains, this is still processed.

Aside from that, long hair can give the illusion of a longer, more slender body on a girl. It's also sexier to think about how it will be messed up and all over the bed after sex.

Some guys, however, prefer short hair because it shows a slender, graceful neck line. That, however, only works on girls who actually HAVE a slender, graceful neck line, and usually a pretty face to match.

I totally prefer short hair... I used be a long hair guy but recently switched. But it does make a difference from girl to girl depending on how her body and eyes looks.

I prefer long hair. I hate to see girls with boy's haircuts. A real turn off.

I like long hair. It looks more feminine and sexier than short hair. Short hair can sometimes make a girl look like a boy.

Most guys are going to respond that longer, thick, shiny hair is more attractive. Why?

Because evolutionarily, hair length is a signal for health and youth. It may sound silly, but hair length and thickness is valuable because a full head of hair reflects youth and a healthy fertile mate. Also youthfulness- or being in reproductive prime- reveals high reproductive potential.

On a side note, in the study, men preferred brunettes.

However, this is a generalized conclusion from not only this study, but several other studies. The hairstyle also depends on the individual. Some women look fabulous and have a distinctly irresistible character with shorter hair. Some women are just able to pull it off. Perhaps, shorter hair brings more confidence to some women. There are just so many variables to consider when it comes to the individual woman.

I'm not a guy. But I can tell you, even if a guy preffers short/long hair it really depends on the person.

I'm a cute girl and have always had looong wavey hair. I just recently cut my hair, styled after the short bob Ashlee Simpson had.

I've never had so many compliments before. I work at a Fitness Center and must have recieved over 500 compliments in one week. It looks sexxy.

I was thinking the past month of growing it out and everytime I mentioned it, people would tell me that they preffered it short.

So I don't think length really matters, a lot of guys I know who love long hair, but they absolutely adore short hair on me. :)

I wouldn't be afraid to go for a short cut, but anyone who is thinking of it might want to check with a few stylists...your face may not be suited for it.

And always, wear it...whether it's short or long, with confidence :D
